Our favourite villages

Corsica, the jewel of the Mediterranean, is home to countless picturesque villages with a rich cultural heritage. From north to south, discover Nonza, Sant'Antonino, Pigna, Lumio, Piana, Sartenè, Bonifacio, Zonza, Sainte-Lucie-de-Tallano and Porto-Vecchio!

Nonza

A gem of northern Corsica, its tightly packed houses create a cosy setting. Dramatic cliffs, black sand beaches and the 18th-century Paoline Tower.

Pigna

A small, remarkably well-preserved medieval village, renowned for its artisans (pottery, ceramics, sculpture) and its open-air theatre.

Lumio

Between Calvi and L'Île-Rousse, a favourite with celebrities, with turquoise waters and pink rocks. Also worth seeing: the hamlet of Occi and the Sant'Ambroggio marina.

Piana

Famous for its pink granite calanques above the Gulf of Porto, listed among the "Most Beautiful Villages of France".

Sartenè

"The most Corsican of Corsican towns", with its Sainte-Marie cathedral and generous spreads of charcuterie and cheese.

Sainte-Lucie-de-Tallano

Famed for its olive oil, with the Festa di l'Oliu Novu held at the end of every May.

Bonifacio

The pearl of southern Corsica, with its picturesque lanes, ramparts and citadel overlooking crystal-clear waters.

Zonza

At the foot of the Bavella Needles, home to the highest racecourse in Europe and the oldest tree in Corsica.

Porto-Vecchio

The "City of Salt", with its 16th-century Citadel, lively old town and nearby beaches such as Palombaggia.
