Freeride World Tour base camp: when °Fahrenheit Seven Val Thorens welcomes the world's best freeriders

In 2025, the Freeride World Tour returned to France after several years away. And it was in Val Thorens that it chose to set down its skis. Building on the long-standing partnership between °F7 and the Belleville freeski club, the hotel became the official base camp for athletes, officials and sponsors for the entire event.

In 2025, the Freeride World Tour returned to France after several years away. And it was in Val Thorens that it chose to set down its skis. Building on the long-standing partnership between °F7 and the Belleville freeski club, the hotel became the official base camp for athletes, officials and sponsors for the entire event.

The context: the FWT returns to France, in Europe's highest resort

The Freeride World Tour is the global benchmark for off-piste big-mountain skiing. When the organisers chose Val Thorens for the 2025 edition, °F7 Val Thorens was the natural choice for base camp: 35 rooms for the athletes, 30 for the officials, and spaces for sponsors and journalists, from 22 January to 3 February.

The challenge: managing the unpredictable at high altitude

In freeride, by definition, the mountain calls the shots. Until the very last moment, nobody knows when the weather window will allow the competition to go ahead. That means keeping a meticulously tight organisation running for several days.

The solution delivered by °Fahrenheit Seven Val Thorens

Half board tailored to the athletes' schedule — Breakfast buffets brought forward to 7am, lunch boxes prepared every morning; and on competition day, ready by 4am.

La Cheminée reserved for athletes and officials — The hotel's fireplace area is transformed into a private chill-out lounge for FWT residents, protecting their focus and peace of mind between training runs.

Tailor-made evening events — Three cocktail dinners held at the hotel during the week: the Kick-Off party (180 guests), an ALPINA WATCHES sponsors' cocktail (80 guests), and the gala cocktail (200 guests).

A meeting room dedicated to the organisers — Le Balcon is made available to the FWT organisers all week, with a major briefing meeting for all officials the day before the competition.

Personalised goodies on every arrival — At each check-in, the athletes receive goodie bags prepared by the Club des Sports, topped up with °F7 gifts.

The result: on the podium, on home turf

A well-oiled base camp, with athletes in the best possible conditions to perform. And to top it all off: Victor De Le Rue and Noémie Equy, both members of the Belleville freeski club, took first place on the podium in their respective disciplines in 2025, and repeated the feat in 2026.
