How to choose the right ski range
In this article, we explain what sets each of our ski ranges apart, from construction to feel on the snow, so you can choose yours with complete confidence.

Four ski rental ranges, from your very first turn to high performance
Our ski rental is organised into four ranges: Ski Rouge, Ski Noire, Ski Performance and Sélection Fahrenheit. Each range corresponds to a different ski construction, and therefore to a different behaviour on the snow. The principle is simple: the higher up the range you go, the stiffer the construction, the more precise and lively the ski becomes, and the less forgiving it is.
What actually changes from one range to the next:
the shape of the sidewalls (vertical sidewalls or not), which determines whether the ski pivots easily or grips the snow;
the core material (wood alone, or wood reinforced with titanium), which determines rebound and stiffness;
the intended use: piste, all-mountain, women's, men's.
Ski Rouge range: accessible rental skis for beginners
The Ski Rouge range is our most accessible range. It's designed for beginners, for that very first turn, for your very first skids.
Skis in this range use a so-called "cap" construction, which favours pivoting. They turn effortlessly, forgive mistakes in weight distribution and remain wonderfully easy to handle. It's the right choice if you're discovering skiing or getting back on the slopes after several years away.
Ski Noire range: sharp skis for skiers who have mastered the turn
With the Ski Noire range, we move on to skis with vertical sidewalls. A vertical sidewall makes the ski far more incisive: the edge bites into the snow instead of sliding over it.
The constructions also start to incorporate wood. The aim is a ski with more rebound: it flexes to enter the turn, and on the way out it propels you a little faster into the next one. A range for skiers who can already hold a line and want real responsiveness underfoot.
Ski Performance range: piste or all-mountain skis, for women or men
The Ski Performance range fine-tunes the choice according to how you ski. It includes women's skis, men's skis, piste-oriented skis and all-mountain skis.
Vertical-sidewall skis: lively yet forgiving
The first type of Performance ski keeps a vertical-sidewall construction: an incisive, lively ski that still remains genuinely forgiving. It suits a regular skier who wants precision without being punished for every edging mistake.
Skis reinforced with titanium underfoot
The second type of Performance ski, such as the Dynastar M-Cross 82, keeps a wood construction but introduces 3D into the ski: titanium inserts placed under the binding area, which stiffen the ski in the centre.
You can see and feel the effect. If you try to flex the ski only in its centre, it remains mechanically stiffer. Off-piste or all-mountain, the tip flexes easily and smooths out the terrain, while the titanium in the centre keeps the ski stable and planted. A ski for those who venture off the groomed piste without giving up grip.
Sélection Fahrenheit Seven range: the stiffest constructions in our line-up
The Sélection Fahrenheit Seven range is our top-of-the-range offer. Here the constructions get stiffer still: in addition to wood, titanium is built into the skis, making them livelier and more demanding.
These are skis that give back everything you put into them, and so they call for active piloting. For an intermediate skier they'll be a little less easy-going; for an expert skier looking for the very best equipment, this is the range to choose.
